Night fishing... many swear by it because they see and catch bigger fish...
"
Night fishing is an experience that every fisher should attempt at least once. Many who try it end up never wanting to fish during the day again.
During the night, you don't have to worry about getting your line tangled with others or having other boats zipping around like you would during the day. This alone is enough to make some fishermen want to fish only at night. The peace and quiet that the night time offers makes for an experience like no other. You may also appreciate the cooler weather at night as compared to fishing during the day.
Although the results may and will vary for everyone, many swear by it because they see and catch bigger fish at night as oppose to fishing during the day. The theory is this: because there aren't nearly as many fisherman at night, it is only correct to assume that night feeding fish don't end up on a dinner plate as often as those that feed during the day. This would mean that the fish that feed at night also have a longer life expectancy. A longer life for these fish would then mean that night fish simply have more time to become older and fatter than those that feed during the day.
Another reason that you may enjoy night fishing more is that fish are less likely to associate the night time to fishermen and therefore take the bait with less resistance and hesitation then during the day. This, of course, is another theory among the night fishing community.
If you are thinking of trying out a night fishing session, here's a few tips to make it more enjoyable.
